Machining and Coating
If you are finding it difficult to keep up with the high demand for your products and want to reduce overall production cycle times, we may be able to assist you by machining, coating, finishing and performing Non-Destructive Inspection (and possible other services such as welding or fabrication) - as part of our one-stop-shopping service - thereby saving you both time and money.
Refurbishment and Repair Services

It is HYPERION's intent to continuously study new and innovative coating applications in conjunction with our clients' needs. We have already successfully undertaken a number of innovative proof-of-concept coating applications in the Oil & Gas industry - resulting in new methods of prolonging the life of critical parts and components - with clear costs-benefits. Our PhD & Masters-level Material Scientists and Metallurgists are performing leading edge R&D into coating performance enhancement, including Nano-crystalline powder formulation, development and optimization.

Materials Testing Laboratory
Our expert technicians - employing state-of-the-art surface engineering equipment are capable of fully examining metal surfaces in preparation for applying the most effective coating process. Further, we can test and verify that the micro- and macro-hardness, bond strength, surface roughness (Ra), micro-granular structure, etc. of the applied coating meets or exceeds both the coating material OEM's and the customer's performance specifications.
Non-Destructive Testing
Our NDT services provide non-invasive techniques to determine the
integrity of a material or component. We are also able to
quantitatively measure a particular characteristic of an object. We are
able to conduct thorough and effective inspections after our machining,
welding, grinding, heat treatment and surface engineering work efforts.
Grit Blasting, Grinding, Super-Finishing and Polishing
HYPERION is capable of abrasive blasting (i.e. grit blasting) to remove unwanted materials on a surface in preparation for effective coating procedures. After a coating has been applied to a surface we are able to utilize Surface, Cylindrical and Centreless Grinders, equipped with Diamond Grinding Wheels to achieve precise Outside Diameter (OD) Dimensions and Surface Roughnesses (Ra) as low as 10-12 micro-inches. If smoother surface finishes are required, we employ Diamond Belts or Lapping Machines using a low-velocity abrading process to super-finishing cylindrical and flat components to achieve Ra as low as 2 micro-inches and to meet Flatness specification requirements of less than 4 Lightbands.
