HPIP
metal penetration technology is totally different from traditional
plating technologies in solid, liquid or gaseous media. Penetrating
materials are ionized and accelerated in a high-voltage field toward
the base material. High speed ions collide with the base metals, which
both heats and softens this material and the ions then penetrate the
base metal forming a metallurgical bond.
The penetrating materials
become increasingly more dense from the inside to outside of the base
metals. The final outer layer is very dense and very tough to withstand
severe abrasion and impact.This revolutionary technology ensures that
the top surface does not crack or break as can happen in traditional
coating and plating techniques. Different penetrating materials,
including: Tungsten, Titanium or Chromium Carbide, Nickel, or
Molybdenum, produce the following performance benefits:
